Buried alive, a look at Islamophobia and mental illness

By Fundación de Cultura Islámica · On 24 February, 2020

This short film, by Nabil Sattar, tackles mental illness and Islamophobia among Muslim communities in the West, as the main character struggles to find a balance between her family’s cultural customs and traditions and her Western upbringing, while facing the fears and discrimination that taints Western society and institutions.

Summary: A typical British Asian girl living under strict rules set by her traditional parents. She is going through mental illness which is a taboo especially within an Asian household. On top of all that, her college has a new law set in place where all head-scarves are banned.
