The Arab world proposes its own versions of “Despacito”

After the huge success of the song “Despacito”, by Luis Fonsi, which is sounding (and it looks that it will continue to do so for a while) in radios all across the world, many Arab artists have decided to present their own version. In a more serious way, or in the form of a parody, mixing Arabic and Spanish or relying on their dialectal languages, different versions have been posted on the internet, with a great level of success.

Whether we like the song or not, we hope that these adaptations help to humanize these countries’ population, which many try to portray as an “other” foreign and distant. This proves, not only the existence of tastes able to transcend cultures and frontiers, but a common desire for relaxing and simply having a good time.
