A couple of weeks ago, Salahuddin Jitmoud’s murderer was judged. Salahuddin was a young deliveryman, who was robbed and murdered last April 19th, 2015 in Kentucky (USA). In a very touching trial, in which the attacker was sentenced to 31 years in jail, Salahuddin’s father announced that he forgave his son’s murderer.
The trial has gone viral and this example of generosity has spread worldwide. In the video one can see how, through a moving message, dr. Abdul-Munim Sombat Jitmoud, the victim’s father, forgives the attacker, “because forgiveness is the greatest gift of kindness in Islam”.
