Charles, Prince of Wales, and future King of the United Kingdom, referred to the Prophet Muhammad <\/a>\ufdfa in his 2016 Christmas speech to the British people.<\/p>\n

The Prince of Wales focused the speech on reminding everyone of the hard destinies that the innocent refugees are facing, being persecuted all around the world, and of one of its main causes, intolerance.<\/p>\n

“Normally at Christmas we think of the Birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. I wonder though if this year we might remember how the story of the nativity unfolds, with the fleeing of the holy family to escape violent persecution. And we might also remember that when the prophet Muhammad <\/a>migrated from Mecca to Medina he was seeking the freedom for himself and his followers to worship.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

And he continued with an excellent claim for the defense of the universal values of freedom of religion and the protection of the innocent.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhichever religious path we follow, the destination is the same \u2013 to value and respect the other person, accepting their right to live out their peaceful response to the love of God”.<\/em><\/p>\n
