A veterans group has plans to protest at Donald Trump’s campaign rally in Madison on Sunday February 21. “Veterans Against Islamophobia”<\/a> says Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is using hate speech against Muslims and their religion. The group says they are non-partisan, and members are combat veterans who have served in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Vietnam. The group has attended two other Trump rallies; the first was February 19, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Ten veterans held the banner. The second rally was February 22 in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

In a statement, the group said, “Fear-mongering endangers our national security and gives rise to hatred and racism that play into the hands of an enemy that wants to convince Muslims around the world that the West, led by the U.S., hates them, and that joining ISIL or similar organizations is the only way to truly observe and defend their religion.<\/p>\n

“We can never defend ourselves effectively by playing into our adversary\u2019s strategy, giving credibility to their recruitment propaganda. We endanger ourselves whenever we make that mistake.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
